Gold, the third rarest vanilla ore in the game, sadly, has low-quality uses: despite breaking blocks very fast, they also break themselves quite quickly. Gold pickaxes cannot mine gold ore, showing how worthless gold tools are. Gold is better for decorations, and useful non-tools like clocks.
Because of the low-quality uses and the ingot's appearence, many Minecraft players call gold "butter", "budder", "buddah" and ther variations, as started by a famous youtuber called SkyDoesMinecraft.
This ore can be found underground in the 20 lowest layers. It can be found while diamond mining.
In Minecraft Classic, exposed gold ore veins could be found. This is rarer than a toad with a wooden toe in the Minecraft we play today.
Unlike most other ores you have to smelt gold. This also counts with iron.
