Lapis Lazuli, the only minable dye in Minecraft, is an ore that, when mined, gives you Lapis Lazuli which can be used to make Lapis Lazuli blocks or dye wool, preferably on a sheep. This ore has a similar appearance to the rare Diamond Ore, and this can annoy players due to confusion between the two, even though this ore is rare in itself.
This ore may also appear near diamonds, however is about 10% more common.
Like some other ores, like redstone, mining the ore gives up to 4 items. Collecting the block with Silk Touch and then smelting it gives only one.
